Bizarre Email

I find them amusing. And this one is one of the best. Just had to share it. Not from A F F, but a "vanilla" dating site.

Hi (My name)! This may sound very strange, but my name is Linda and I am writing this to you for my ex-husband, Michael. We have been divorced for 28 years, but we are still friends. I am in Oregon and he is in Chicago. It is Michael's profile and picture that you will see here. I read your profile to him, and he liked what you had to say very much. Michael is a very intelligent, handsome Christian man. He is 50 years old and lives in Chicago, and has been pretty lonely lately. Michael does not have a computer, so I told him I would do the online e-mailing for him. He is a one-woman kind of guy who just wants someone to love and share life with.

He asked me to e-mail you and give you his phone number. If you are at all interested, he would love to hear from you. You can either e-mail me at this e-mail address and I will get the message to him, or you can call him at (phone number). I hope this doesn't sound too weird for you. It really isn't. It's just a Christian woman who cares about her ex-husband and would love to see him happy again - even for someone to talk to and have as a friend would be nice. Take care!

Sounds like a take off on the Nigerian minister who has money but needs your cash scam.

Well, not to sound naive, but if we gave the guy the benefit of the doubt for a moment, and assumed that this really IS his ex-wife emailing you, my thinking is this.

If he doesn't have the courage to write an email, which is not face-to-face contact, what would happen if you actually decided to meet him? Would he say a word? Would he be honest? Even more, would he be interesting?

Guys like this are a self-fulfilling prophecy. He could be depressed from not having someone, and when the women that he meets are turned off by his "woe-is-me" demeanor, then obviously, the situation gets exponentially worse. It is only when the man takes a heavy dose of FUKIDOL, and realizes that life goes on, and very rarely will any woman pursue any interest in him until he shows some level of confidence in himself. Sadly, the women who DO continue to be interested, may seem to have the idea that they can "save" him from himself, when the truth is, ultimately, it is his decision to change his thinking.

He is in a downward spiral right now, and the only hope is that he wakes up, and pulls up before he slams headfirst into the ground.
