Perpetual Optimist?

I generally have a good attitude and feel things will work out, even if there are obstacles I have no control over....but sometimes it's so difficult to stay optimistic.

Some folks consider me Pollyannish as I do have a perpetual sunny side to my view of life. I treat people that way...expecting only the best from them until they prove otherwise. I try to take the long term view with the idea that things will work out and that most of what bugs people is irrelevant anyway.

When I get depressed, I masturbate.
Been jerking off a lot lately.

I also download music in my spare time.

The world is your oyster, and I am the sand.

Beginning to think maybe I should adopt that attitude, negative as it is...no expectations....so much simpler. Wondering if I'm capable of it?/I]

I never really considered it to be a negative attitude, just a realistic one. A pessimist thinks life sucks no matter what happens, good or bad. I simply acknowledge that life is full of problems that come along. Things never work out like you plan, for various reasons people don't always come through for you, etc. I just factor all that into my expectations. Basically hope for the best but plan for the worst. The best rarely happens but then again, neither does the worst.

That is why I'm a perpetual cynic. You expect things to go wrong all the time. When they do you can meet it with weary resignation but no disappointment. When they go right you are happily surprised. Win-win.
