Grand babies are great! I have two of my own and love them to death.
When you lose a friend it really hits close to home. I don't think I will ever handle that type of situation very well, but who does? When you start to think of your own mortality, it sucks! It is something we are all going to face someday. You just have to enjoy the life you have and make the best of each situation that is dealt.

There with you -- but even the happy things are often bittersweet as we let go of our pasts -- our son is getting married this summer, and the past few years I wish our relationship had been stronger, and now here we are, the last Christmas together with our current family. We love our daughter-in-law to be, but in many ways the most important part of our marriage has been our son - so in some ways its particularly hard to move on.

Sometimes happiness is a choice. We could focus on the bad - or we can focus on the good and move on. I choose the latter.
