Scandalous Behavior - SEXTING?!?!?
Scandalous Behavior - SEXTING?!?!? Currently in the news is a story about a local jr high principal who is being fired because he was "sexting" with a 22 year old former intern. Stupidly, he did it on his work phone. But nonetheless, is this a terrible offense? We had the big news story of Anthony Weiner and his "scandalous" IMs earlier in the year. I'm trying to figure out what is so wrong with adults flirting in a gratuitous way over the phone or on-line. I remember reading the transcripts of Weiner's IMs and they were almost word by word correspondence I've had with men I chat with (respectable men). Should a person (even a school principal or politician) be deemed unable to perform their jobs well because of what they do in their personal lives? OMG if that was the case, by some people's standards, I would think many of us are unemployable!! |

No, I don't think anyone should be held "accountable" for what they do in their personal lives. Here's the problem with that sentiment: Do you want someone judging what you do behind closed doors? I sure don't. Happy Tuesday Live life to it's fullest! If you're bored, Read Hugs Gypsy

Agreed, but the issue with the principal was the intern requested he stop, but he didn't, so he crossed a line and got caught. I have done a lot of sexting and im's, but with and as consenting adults and with a certain knowledge that the receiver of my chats and pics won't be making them public, as I won't with any that I receive. I don't mind public officials doing things as long as there isn't any hypocrisy as they are capable of doing. And they don't use their positions as a hammer.
