It seems A F F is following suit of the other dating/hook up sites by only allowing paying members to send and reply to emails....unless of course, the paying members want to pay extra so standard members members can read and reply to their emails and read their profiles.

As someone who used to frequent multiple sites, I stopped paying years ago because you never knew who could respond or who couldn't and it became a total waste ot time and money to continue paying for memberships.

Supposedly standard members can still blog and I think still IM here, which you can't do elsewhere, but I hate to assume, but it seems probable that those privelages may soon disappear soon.

Considering I get free gold membership because of my long term and constant activity here I probably shouldn't be one to complain. However, if I can't communicate with most of the other people here, what good is my membership, even if it's free?

 Ahhh...that explains a lot...seems I was having a rather long and protracted email conversation here with a woman when, all of a sudden, the conversation was grayed out. I could upgrade to continue, but why bother? Funny thing is, in order to start the communication, as a std member, I had to use points. Oh well...

 Good morning. Yeah, as a standard member, the new emails policy sucks, but oh well... Also, I can only do a max of 5 IMs a day, so that's also very limiting.

 Why pay for gold if you can only communicate with other gold members? This site used to be a lot better. It's just going downhill.

 This site does not operate for free, so anything they allow non paying members to do is a perk.

 This new policy change really affects gold members as well.

Maybe it's time the site just went to a flat fee for membership.

where everyone who pays the fee all have the same privileges as everyone else.

Might just end up being a better site.
