Standard Members - How Do You Decide?  If you can't see pictures (many main profile pictures are pretty obscure) and you can't read what people have written in their profiles, how do you decide who to IM, approach in a chatroom and communicate with whatever way is still available to you on A F F? As a woman, when I'm approached here by a man. especially the one's who say they want to meet me, who has no clue what I look like, and doesn't know anything about me, I sort of make the assumption he's just hitting on any and every women he can, and just hopes to get lucky. |

If I come across a profile the piques my interest i will convert points that will allow me to read the profile and if that looks promising then I will convert more points so I can send an email. I have never been able to send an email any other way even though i believe we are allowed one or two a day or week or something.

I’ve only been on IM since early Nov. within my first 5 or so minutes (figuring out how it was laid out etc.) I got a message from a local-ish woman, which stated, “wanna play”, her second message included a pic I didn’t ask for yet. She was a standard member (no pics) so the implications that only guys ‘fish in the dark’ is off  . Since my local “pond” has very few women, and less in my preference zone, and less yet who IM, I have probably “fished out” the pond, unless a new “school” “swims” in. BTW, I think the whole fish comparison thing is really kind of lame and perpetuates the negativity here.  But yes, I will start a convo with “anyone”, whether it goes anywhere or whether I “get lucky” is another thing. A person (male or female) going into a convo with assumptions is bound to end up disappointed one way or another. IM is there for the purpose of communicating, so communicate and seen where it goes. When I do go on IM I also have a tab open with my area’s female members open – it’s not hard to do.  Here's a clue to those who assume things. Some people don’t pay because there aren’t many “fish in the pond”, so whether the profile is 10 words or 100 doesn’t really matter (mine is somewhere between) if no one is there to read it. That doesn’t take into account that the overall value of what someone (male or female) gets here has been diminished. Especially for those who have paid for Gold membership and lost some of it’s functionality recently.  Also, approaching most any interaction with people, and having a negative  attitude about it, is bound to come out with a negative result. I will assume people know what assuming gets you. Lol.  When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

By age and from the pictures or the tastes of each. But can be n1 Fan and can already communicate.

A lot of it will depend on location, age, username, profile photo, and even hover over it may give a brief intro that you put on your profile. If it says they just want online dirty chat then I guess men will hit on anything, if it says only fucks black men and male is white, then he may not A mix of process of elimination and intuition
