To be yourself is all that you can do(all that you can do) To be yourself is all that you can-- Be yourself is all that you can-- Be yourself is all that you can dooooooohoooo ************************************************** I come from a big italian family.. very very nosy..lol I have been split from my x now for 4 or 5 years. i loose track it really isn't that important to me. and most family gatherings some one or several someones asks me about my romantic life. it is surprising how well you can use blunt honesty as a shield...lol the conversation goes something like this them:so are you dating any one me: well no you know men aren't like they used to be and neither are woman for that matter... which to a 50- 60 year old is shocking...lol and they start to sputter... or them: you see that smile on your face if you had a man...(trails off to imply that i need one to be happy all the time) me: i have a vibrator i can put this smile on my face anytime i want... which to a 50- 60 year old is shocking...lol and they start to sputter... or them: you have chaps and a leather does that make you a motorcycle chick me: i have whips and chains to. if chaps make me a motorcycle chick what do they make me? which to a 50- 60 year old is shocking...lol and they start to sputter... Now i actually have whips and chains which i rarely use. i have chaps that i rarely use. i am rarely attracted to women and even more rarely act on it. do any of those things make me one specific thing to the exclusion of any of the other things i could possibly be? I had someone once tell me i wasn't separate things but rather multifaceted. I rather like being compared to a gem...lol i am more than just the sum of my parts. i just don't like to be labeled as one thing. all i can do is be myself. i am not a label. i am me. |

I hate being labeled...and to protect myself, more often than not I just close myself off to a lot of people. The less they know, the less chance of being labeled. Probably not the healthiest thing I can do for myself...

Hehehe... One of the best responses I've ever heard to the "you need a man to make you smile" comments was. "Why would I need a man when I have something that can last until I want it to stop and doesn't snore?" Hehehe... One of my old college friends to a guy hitting on her in a bar. Hehehe... I get that same kind of shocked look when I tell people I'm poly. Just that kinda... "But that doesn't work." Or "Are you a mormon?" being from texas hasn't helped recently with all that FLCS bullshit in Texas.
