organ ...

no when you die silly. what did you think i meant...lol

I renewed my license and now they ask you right there if you are willing to donate your parts. then you get a letter saying if you are willing to donate your parts with no restriction then you don't have to respond otherwise you have to send back a form restricting what they do with your body after you die.

1. that takes a lot of trust that someone will actually check and follow what you wanted done.

2. it really shouldn't matter to you cause hey you are dead. no longer in there. it is just the stuff that is left after we go.

but i just couldn't do no restrictions. for some reason giving my parts to save a life or make a life better is ok but giving my parts for research (which also could ultimately save lives or make a life better) just gave me the hee bee gee bees and i said uh uh. no way.

We are talking about human organs not the musical intrument, right?

Definitely a dilemma situation. I wouldn't want my organs to be given to a patient who was still in their reproductive years if they had a condition that could be passed on to their children. Not my intent to allow defective characteristics to be passed on. Call me selfish, call me cruel. But that's the way I feel.

Hugs and well placed kisses - Chris

Hi ya velvt,

I may be a little biased due to the loss of a loved-one for lack of a willing donor.

I believe if we all donated usable "organs" there would be many more people able to live fully functional lives and fewer draining the health-care system merely trying to hang-on to a life in the hospital.
I do agree with you though the thought of being a cadaver would give me the hee bee gee bees.

Most of the guess work can be taken out of it by having a living will and a health-care proxy. If you have the paperwork filled out and on file it eliminates the guess work. You have people that are informed of your wishes and it's in writing.
