New Orleans...Day 2

So...here I am in N.O....the Big Easy...lol. I spent most of the day in the French Quarter, which is very unique and cute...Yes Cute! There really isn't a better way to describe it...it was a cloudy rainy day and I walked the whole 13 x 6 blocks (that's how big it is...cool, eh?) Itr was very interesting...cool architecture and quite the array of people. I have to laught at the tourist types...myself being one of course, they gawk and slip around and gawk some more. Those well endowed with cash take the tours (Man are they pricey!!) and those not well cashed, do like me...take the walking tour...lol. I ate at a couple of neat restaurants, had a benigh (donut, lol, those French and their gimmicks)and some creole quisine...all in all a nice day. I also toured around a bit and found the rest of New Orleans to be a big dirty city with lots of friendly people, but seriously not a very nice looking place. There are still remmants of Hurricaine Katrina kicking around in the subburbs. Closed areas with big high fences and half delapidated houses, even a school that is awaiting demolition. Quite sad when you think about it...The hurricaine was 8, that's right 8!!! years ago, and its still not cleaned up...one tour guide told me that 120,000 people left during the hurricaine or shortly after and never came back. I saw a whole development that is now totally abandonned. The people just boarded up their houses and left...wow...really sad.

Tomorrow its on to Dallas...can't wait to see what Texas has to offer...

Here's today's hunk for you interested ladies and men (a surprising number of Gay bars in New Orleans...and one extremely amazing lingerie shop...not samples this time but beautiful stuff.

Enjoy...

I love New Orleans, haven't been there in quite a long time. I think it is sad to that it is still in the shape it is after all this time. Great picture. LOL
