Aye, it was a well deserved victory. by far the best team over the season, playing by far the best footie. And yes, Klopp is a thoroughly decent person. McSOP's one of the good uns McThik, no question, a fundamentally decent bloke. But aye, I'm with you. I've never understood that 'fanmanship' either. Are you aware of the Glasgow 'Old Firm' rivalry? It's basis is a long tired religious bigotry which manifests in football support. Sadly, at the conclusion of each Rangers and Celtic footie match there's a 25% increase in domestic violence in the city of Glasgow. Quite appalling. Anyway, one of the other things I used to find difficult about it (past tense because I no longer care) is that as a born and bred Celtic fan, I still used to support Rangers when they were playing in Europe, or whatever, and I used to get all manner of abuse from my peers. Similarly, I am the biggest fan of England when they are playing any sport against anyone else but Scotland, I get abuse for that too. I don't understand it, I really don't. Hope you're okay in covid rich US.......stay safe sir. What sports do you follow over there? yes, to be abused for supporting a rival but fellow domestic club when they go onto the continent makes no sense. we actually have little here to compare to that except our MLS clubs usually losing to mexican-based clubs in CONCACAF competitions north and central america and the caribbean). in international, such as the world cup, im again largely neutral beyond the united states, but a sucker for inspirational stories. i will admit, i nearly jumped through the ceiling when south africa scored the first goal in the first game, against mexico, in their 2010 world cup. what a great moment, not only in sports history, but in world history period. in many ways, a tribute to, and a legacy of, nelson mandela and all he stood for, for the world cup to even BE in south africa. but i digress. i follow MLS here, but only because its still soccer. i follow EPL and champions league. ill look at europa sometimes, but usually only in the later rounds, or if an epl team or an american player is involved. back home, its also ice hockey. at least in this case, the best league in the world is here in north america. LOL thanx for the chat. be well "well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

Don't know much about American sports but its like asking a Red Sox fan to congratulate the Yankees. Regards SOP never liked that kind of "fanmanship" - i just love the sport and seeing a well-played game. i may prefer one side now and again, but not at the expense of possibly being grumpy the next day if one bunch of millionaires has a slightly better day than the other bunch of millionaires, even if its a great game by all other accounts. for perspective, how many on liverpool are actually FROM liverpool? and your favorite side? assuming its a london team, how many of them are actually FROM london? so at that point, doesnt the "regional" part of some rivalries become in fact between the billionaire owners, about half of whom arent even FROM england at all ? wheres the fun in that? in fact, part of our philadelphia unions ownership includes a group of investors from nyork - EEEWWW! meanwhile, looking forward to hopefully resuming champions league sometime . . . im keen toward the EPL clubs, but in reality, at that level, theyre all INTERNATIONAL all-star clubs. enjoyed chatting with you, good luck. thanx "well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"
