Getting Paid to Workout?
Getting Paid to Workout? So, I was perusing the news this morning when I came across a story that piqued my interest: Clif Bar CEO Kevin Cleary Pays Workers to Exercise 2.5 Hours a Week Apparently being the CEO, he is leading by example: He bikes 25 miles one way to work, two to three times a week and also runs 20 miles a week. His company boasts a state-of-the art on-site gym. My question, if your company offered you the option of being paid to exercise during your work week, would you do it? If you could coordinate an exercise program for your workplace, what would you want it to include? I would love having an on-site yoga class. In addition to running, I attend yoga class 5 days a week. Yoga is wonderful for stress relief. My office suite contains a pole fitness studio in the basement which I am also exploring to keep my fitness regimen exciting. What say you? |

I exercise anyway, so heck ya I'd take the cash!! I once signed up for a “Hot Yoga” class, but was VERY disappointed when I learned that referred to the temperature of the room in which the class was held. Pole fitness is underrated in my opinion. Of course YOU are fit. They might as well pay you for it... (?) Not much of an answer, eh?

I'd be doing it anyways, so I might as well get paid. Thoughts from the Garden...

It is unlikely that I would exercise in any meaningful way at work. My schedule is too up and down to set up a regular time. I would perhaps be able to swing a half hour a day walking, but not running. I wouldn't want to change clothes. Just a 30 minute walk. But lots of people do that now. They walk around the parking area and building. It's a pretty good hike. But an indoor treadmill would be my choice. As for you on a pole.....

Oh hell yeah! Tennis would be my exercise of choice, but I'd do whatever was offered.
