Have you ever said anything along the lines of the above hypothetical scenario? ‘Whether I’m with you or not with you, I’m your eternal companion, that much is true, that’s why I sms you, as an expression of my love and affection for you.’ Would you say such measures are always appreciated? ‘I will not hold those words against you, nor label you accordingly and if I have ever said anything to upset you, I apologise as we are accountable for our words.’ Would you say such unconditional acceptance is justifiable? ‘We must have a united front.’ How would you react to such an appeal? Under what conditions would you relent to such coaxing? Even if I was in a relationship and a woman told me she had intimate relations with my partner, I would through my love for that person forgive weakness of the flesh. Would you, though? Have you ever endeavoured to say something such as the following to the person that you are involved with? ‘I’m also at fault, ‘cause the more I accuse you, the more you seek comfort elsewhere. You’re a grown man. No further accusations. I trust you, without inhibiting you.’ Have you been guilty of giving money to ungodly women and defiling your bed with adulterous affairs?
