THE GOOD OLD DAYS? The Good Old Days! In 1970 I was living in a converted chicken coop behind my younger sister and her husband's home in Monterey, California. When the Supreme Court handed down it's ruling: that pornography was protected by the 1st Amendment and the courts could no longer convict film makers who made films showing a man's stiff spurting dick, and full sexual intercourse on the big screen, all hell broke loose in the Southern California film industry. Remember sweet astute readers, this was 1970. IF VIDEO, was around in those days, it was still being developed in the laboratory. Everything back then was on film, and for you young, young readers, computers for us common creeps, were only a thing of Science fiction. THIS hard core porn was all new. It was all VIRGIN territory, if you can stand my bad pun. A few months after this Supreme Court ruling, DEEP THROAT, starring Linda Lovelace, was being shown all over the country on the big screen in seedy movie houses, where wonderful sexual perversions went on among the mostly male audiences. There was only one porn theater around here. I never went, and the one time that I got up the nerve, I found it closed and half demolished. *sigh* When I was in the mood for some gay action, which was a lot of evenings back then (around 1970), I would walk up to the Eastern end of Hollywood Blvd. where there were three small porno theaters, and choose one of them. They were comparatively clean and never seemed to have any cops lurking in them. I always got all the sex I wanted. It's a wonder I never caught anything, but in those days many of the diseases around today just weren't around to "bite" us... thanks for your comment...david.

I got out of the Army in New England, 3000 miles away from Hollywood. I got a job right away as a Junior Chemist in a private Aircraft Accessories Company. Junior Chemist was only a title, because I had no idea of what it involved.. I only worked there for about 6 months. Just long enough to buy a car and save a little money to head for California. California, then seemed to be the leading edge of the entire world in 1959, 1960. I've gone back to Connecticut a number of times. There are probably a hundred relatives in New England but no fond memories of that area or even of the people related to me. Our home here on the desert is like a bubble in a time capsule. From what I've read, Linda only made a tiny $1500.00 dollars from that movie. During that time, Larry King had an AM radio talk show beaming out of I think, KLAC radio, L.
