It's time...

Here I am, again. Been thinking.... don't worry. I'm ok.
It really is well past time for me to get back in the shape I want to be. Don't get me wrong. I'm not round. I can be a whole lot better, though! I've always been all about being the best I can be. (Hey! The Army got something right!) For the last several years, I've put off getting my toned body back. No more! I'm sure some people wouldn't worry about it and say that I'm in good shape for my age. Don't worry about it. I believe that it's about more than the body, though. I think the ancient Greeks had it right. A strong body houses a strong mind. I've been settling for mediocrity for far too long. Good enough just isn't...... well.... good enough.

About a week into things and, not surprisingly, the changes have been small. There have been changes, though! Too small for a camera to capture, or I'd be happy to share pics, here. Getting started is always the hardest part. I've been good about kicking my Monster Energy Drink habit, and what do you know?... I have more energy! I'm drinking MUCH more water, and trying to eat more often. (not so good about that) Oddly, I haven't been very good about grabbing the weights and getting busy. Why odd? I LOVE lifting! That's the fun part of getting in better shape! My saving grace there, is that I live an active lifestyle. On my days off, I've been hand loading scrap steel to haul off for recycling. That's been a big help! I'm seeing an increase in definition in my arms, back, and shoulders. Need to jump on the mtn. bike and start working my legs too. I live too far out from any gym for that to be an option, so I need to get creative. I'm always open to suggestions! Keep an eye on me and let me know what you think!
