We're on the march with Ally's army Happy World Cup 2014 Opening Day my sexy friends!  It's time for that four yearly festive feast of fabulous football! Woohoo!! My only regret is that once again, Scotland didn't make it...thank you VERY much Craig Levein  But there is hope..... wee Gordon looks like he might make something happen in time for Euro 2016....and it'll be the 20th anniversary of our last Euro appearance  We can do it!! We'll be coming... We'll be coming... We'll be coming down the road... When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army boys... We'll be coming down the road... I have a theory actually about why Scotland's football team has slipped in terms of competitiveness with the rest of the world... From 1974 till 1998, Scotland competed in every world cup finals with the exception of USA '94.... And of course that means the Tartan Army was in attendance at each event in total party mode (as they always are )You following so far?? Ok, here's the reason why everyone else got better and we got worse.... Our fans spent the whole time in foreign lands impregnating the local girls and other visiting females...thus dispersing the potential talent pool across the globe!! That's why everyone else got better at football and we got worse!! Witness the standard of the Scotland teams of the 70's and 80's....great teams filled with talented individuals....after a 20 year drought on the getting to the world cup finals!! By that reasoning, after a similar 20 year drought we should be due a crop of homegrown talent the like of which we haven't seen since 1974!! Just ignore those people who say it's lack of investment and training at the grass roots level...it's those frisky scottish boys to blame!!  Oh well... I have a team picked out to cheer for.... Who is it?? Why it's whoever is playing against England of course!! But it's not the same without Scotland.... Still.... there are compensations It is Brazil after all... Hot weather and beautiful women in the stands Bring on the Samba girls!!  I wonder how many Brazilians get Brazilians?? Or do they call it something different down there? Is there a difference between a Brazilian Brazilian and a Brazilian from anywhere else?? Inquiring minds want to know!! In the interests of science of course!! A great theory that, I reckon you could be onto something there. I mean, we can't possibly just be crap! And it would also explain why we're crap at most other sports too!!  I remember Arthur Montford alll those years ago declaring that 'it's curtains in Cordoba' for Ally's men! I also remember Arthur's comb over! Really showing ma age there, eh??
