Yo Ho Ho And A Bottle Of Rum

For the first time in a long time, I actually spent a little time in the Manitoba Room yesterday...
Scary thought, huh?

Now I used to be a bit of a fixture in there a few years ago, but after a moderately bad experience with another chatter, and a bunch of folks leaving I kinda quit going in there

But time heals all wounds eventually......
Well, if the wounds don't kill you first that is

So the verdict is.... there's still a few good people around in MB

Anyway..... it was kindly pointed out by one of the aforementioned inhabitants of the room that I hadn't posted in a while...

Yes, ladies and gents, I've been slacking again....

I keep meaning to post, but I never get around to it

So here I am, posting like a maniac

I was also asked why my profile pic only has one eye....
And, no, for those who never looked at it it is not a dick pic....

Actually, some people do think I'm a bit of a dick...so I guess you could be forgiven for making that mistake

I could say "Because it has" or "That's how I cropped it" or something....

However...the truth* is MUCH more windswept and interesting....

* For a given value of truth at least - the following story is completely true...only the events have been changed to protect the guilty....ummmm.. I mean innocent

The *truth* is... I lost it in a bizarre Pirating accident...

I was sailing along minding my own business (while keeping a lookout for stray ships to board and for the navy ships coming to take me down) when my parrot, who was sitting on my shoulder at the time, said "Polly want a cracker".

Now, being a rough, tough Rover of the Seven Seas I don't carry crackers around - hate the crumbs in my pocket, it's so untidy
How can I be expected to win the Mr Best Dressed Pirate competition this year with crumbs falling out of my pockets I ask you??

Anyway..... being the salty seafarer that I am, I turned to her and said "Fuck off Polly, you feathered pest"

At which point she pecked out my eye.

And who can blame her..... it's one thing to tell your parrot to fuck off, quite another to call her a pest...
Apparently parrots don't like that.
Especially fully qualified Piratical Parrots.
With a certificate and everything.
I know 'cause I've seen it!
She has it framed and hung in her cage....

Mind you, there's a silver lining..... I now can wear an eye patch with pride
I think it'll get me some extra points for the Best Dressed competition, don't you think?

So there you have it... the real story of why my profile pic only has one eye

So if any of you ladies want pillaged or plundered, I'm your man

Which reminds me.... I need to go back to the petstore....
My parrot appears to be dead.
