Common sense
I am what they call a float at my nursing home. I work on all of the floors. I say it's because I'm so popular they all have to share me. I get to know pretty much all of the staff that way and all of the residents as well. I was floated to a floor that I haven't been on for a couple of months Saturday and so I had to "catch up" a bit on knowing about my residents as there were some new ones, and the fact that things change. I was reading care plans so that I'd know what was what with my residents when I came across something that made me laugh out loud and share:
"Please do not have resident sit on his testicles because it can be uncomfortable."
To me that's just plain common sense. Do you think it was ever an issue? Were the other aides sitting him on his nuts thinking they were pillows? I'm pretty sure there would've been some screaming going on, I mean the guy weighs over 400 pounds. It would definitely hurt! And he's not the type to sit still and be quiet, so.....
Anywho, it amused me a bit, and I got to thinking about all of the other things that shouldn't have to be said but are anyways, like that coffee is hot, you shouldn't eat non edible things, don't stand up on a roller coaster and that ice is slippery. It's absolutely ridiculous that some of these things have to be posted or some idiot somewhere would probably sue because they had brain activity so low that they tried it.
Got a job for all you Captain Obvious', what's the funniest thing that you've ever seen that should be common sense but somebody somewhere felt the need to put it in print???

 There has been two things that made me laugh, but are so stupidly obvious (1)some bags of peanuts now have a warning MAY CONTAIN NUTS for people who have a nut allergie i mean obvious.
(2)jars of pickled shell fish in my place have lids that are hard to get off, once you eventually get it off on the inside of the lid there are instructions on how to get it off and how to purchase a lid remover,

 This reminded me of a joke about three kids arguing whose father is the laziest. The winner is the one they find sitting moaning on the porch. "I'm sitting on my testicles, but I am too lazy to get up!"
