Toodles 2009 So unless anyone's living under a rock, and perhaps even then, we all know it's the last day of the year. And what a year it's been! It saw the end of an era for me. And several new beginnings. I lost friends, made new ones, got things settled in court finally, took more time for myself than I've taken ever before, learned things the hard way, and been pleasantly surprised in others. I've cried myself silly, laughed until my face and sides hurt, been very deep, and done some incredibly shallow things. I've been both brave and terrified, sometimes at the same time. I've experimented. And I've learned. I know it's just another day, it's going to look the same tomorrow as it does today most likely, but I want to feel some hope there. Not false hope either, real honest rays of sunshine that help light a path. It's very hard for me to put my faith in others. So instead I want to try and put the faith in myself. With all of my faults I know that I'm not a terrible person. I can see my own worth some days very clearly. Others have dragged me down before, but I'm resilient, and I know they never keep me down for very long. I am a tough chick, even though I have my weaknesses. It's not about resolutions that are broken quicker than they are made. More of a stronger will to keep those things that I know are harmful to my well being out of my life, like the ex for example. I did that, and it wasn't really easy. So I know that I can do what I put my mind to and keep the destructive things away. Even when they're only in my own mind. So I asked the girls what they want to do to ring out the old year and in the new one. Their answer? Lasagna! So I'm off to the store in a bit to get all the fixings. I've got some movies and may or may not have company later. It's going to be a good day. And that's how I'm taking it. One day at a time. Happy New Year everyone!  How are you all celebrating? Ugh! It was pretty slick! Thankfully the Super Wal-mart isn't too far from me.  Time to get cooking.  No delivery down your way? Have a great one anyways.

I've just had lunch after a night out seeing the New Year in. I've got a bit of a headache but it's not going to stop me watching my local soccer team play later this afternoon. The cold weather should hopefully perk me up? Happy New Year.

That they do. They hate Mondays, are lazy whenever possible, and love the lasagna. Take a day, hit the water, rest the head, and tell me all about the party later. You're one of my highlights too.
