The perfect gift
With my birthday coming up on Saturday, the midgets asked me what I want for my special day. I had to think long and hard and told them I'd get back to them about that. And it did get me to thinking...
Monetary gifts don't mean anything to me. Anyone can go out and buy a card, flowers, presents, whatever. It means nothing really. I've always found that my favorite "gifts" were of time spent, happiness shared, beautiful memories. Those are the things I hold dear to me. The perfect gift can not be asked for, can not be coerced in any way, it must come completely from the heart unexpectedly.
I have a wish, but sharing it would make it void somehow and not as meaningful.
If you could give me something for my birthday, what would it be?
