NO I don't want to look....I have enough problems with the site as it is.
Please have a look at the future. I don't even think your roaming fly will survive!

It looks as if many bloggers will stop blogging if this new format is rolled out.

The site's track record of listening to its members is unfortunately dismal.

Have you looked at the new Community?
Nope. I have enough to juggle this holiday season. I'm refusing to let their chaos mess with my head, LOL.
You aren't missing anything good by not looking at the new format!

I see your post re inforced my ideas. The site is so weird in concept, I stay away from anything voluntary. You saved many of us wimps with your efforts
This site's relations with its members is appalling. It is supposed to be a business which means listening to its customers.

Have been wondering about that Spunky, but have been hesitant to click on it, and now after reading what you've said, guess I'll carry on hesitating! In case I get curious though, just have to ask you, if you click on it, can you leave - you're not stuck with it? Anyway, have a great week!
I would keep on hesitating. But if you do click on it you can leave the hellhole and return to the old format.

My friend, you always have facts and very informative, thanks for sharing info!
I just did a test run of the new format and put the facts in the public domain!

I did have a brief look at the new community format. I couldn't get my head around it to be honest.
The new format is not easy at all to navigate and breaks the three-clicks rule, if it takes three or more clicks to find something, people don't bother trying to find it!

I like the old format better. I'm with you
The old format needs fixing but even with its many glitches it's far superior to the new format. It beggars belief how the site can screw things up so badly ... but having seen how it operates perhaps we shouldn't expect anything else!

I'm pleased my experience with the new format is similar to your experience who is IT-savvy.
When I first entered the new format, I thought it was my lack of IT skills that was the problem. But having entered the new format on several occasions trying to do what I normally do in blogland, I soon realised it's the site messing things up ... again!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll go through the following point by point... then go through the posts you sent and comment there too.

Below are 15 examples of how my normal blogland routines are disrupted:
- new comments to my blog posts are not easy to find

A: Once we move to the new code, every time someone comments on a post or replies to a comment (for both blogs and groups), it will be listed on the "Alerts" page so you can see them all in one place. During the "beta", they do not show up there yet as it's a new feature.

- comments to some of my blog posts have disappeared

A: One of the blog migration scripts wasn't running for a week... blogs/comments are there again. It's a bit hard to keep the two databases in sync but I can update any missed ones later.

- my replies to comments posted on my blog posts have vanished

A: Please check again now that the last week data has been copied.

- many images uploaded with blog posts do not appear

A: I'm investigating this one today... I think it's related to the last week sync issue.

- the description of my blog has been reduced to a few lines

A: Yes, I'm going to work on this... I was trying to make it do a summary with a link to "view all" but since we have so many customization tags, it's hard to do. The challenge is on mobile where a long description means people have to scroll through it to see the posts.

- alerts take me back to things that happened a long time ago

A: yep, the alerts will show only new events that happen in the new community... my guess if you have some alerts, they're from August when we were testing things.

- each of my saved posts are listed twice

A: I'll have to check this one on your account as I see them only once.

- my sticky blog post for members to contact me has vanished

A: I'll check this one later. The new code also only has sticky on/off and not a sort order for them. It's on the to-do list but we also want to keep things simple.

- new posts of my followed bloggers can only be found by searching each of their blogs

A: Assuming you're using a computer (not phone), you can see "new posts of followed bloggers" by clicking the "Blogs" button on the left sidebar, then "Followed" button on the upper-right corner of the page.

- the opening page of blogland is just a list of random blog posts

A: It currently shows the newest blogs (note again, the last week's blogs were missing).

- recent blog posts cannot be found

A: yes, they're there now.

- new bloggers cannot be easily found

A: click "Blogs" in left sidebar, then "New" button at the top. However, since most new bloggers

- so-called top bloggers cannot be easily found (some may say this is a plus point!)

A: yeah... we're going to get rid of the "contest" posts. If you go to /community/members you can see some leaderboards and sorts but it's kind of hidden on purpose until we see if it's useful.

- blocked members are now unblocked

A: Aha... I see what happened here. I will update it today.

- and incredibly, the apostrophe is still mangled

A: yeah... I worked on this a bit last week. The problem is the old/current blog database mangles apostrophe's and so only new posts will not have that problem. It's actually worse for non-English posts. The new blogs has a way to fix apostrophes in old posts for English.

Thanks for taking on board all this. Key is geting the issues fixed before rolling out.
