I have been there three times for my kids and it is the coolest thing ever. Given she is being induced, the nurses will be on top of all the preparations. Don't forget your Camera!

That is one of the greatest experiences to be involved with . There are many moments . But in the end when the baby is delivered . There are so many or no words to describe it . So good on you for being there for your friend . And enjoy the final outcome and all it's joy for many .

Its not a shuttle launch. lol Its birth. You wont have to do much, just be there for support, and accept everthing else in the room and the whole experience as beautiful. Humans have been giving birth for some 150,000 years (if you accept homo sapiens as first and not homo sapien sapiens, and if you do then the number is closer to 80,000 years). Enjoy the experience.

i watched my daughter come into this world. very great experience. i remember it like a jelly mold jiggling when her shoulders finally came free. i remind her of it and she hits me. we have a great relationship that way.

Been through... ummm, 3.5? My two kids, one C-section, one natural. While I was an EMT, one that we just got to Labor & Delivery, but hadn't transferred off our stretcher. The .5 would be a placenta (that comes after) in a case where the patient was separated from the baby at birth. Not sure if it's beautiful thing or train wreck... Either way it'll be interesting to watch. Only give two fingers to hold.... Go ahead, try to crush two fingers.

I watched both of my kids being born. Gotta say I understand why a lot of people don't want to watch. I would be happy to not watch again if I become a parent again. Last time involved 4th degree lacerations and two pints of blood lost... it was quite traumatic. I suspect it wasn't too good for the ex-wife either...
