Holiday Destinations

We recently returned from a week's vacation in Las Vegas and Yuma, Arizona. Before we left we put a post on one of their local groups and also messaged seven couples in the area, wondering if anyone would like to get together for a drink while we were in town. We got two replies. Both of those couples were planning to be out of town that weekend. We're a fun couple who actually fuck so we usually make friends easily. If someone like us was coming to the city and messaged us personally (I admit that a post on a group site may not be all that successful--we too ignore those posts from people who say they're going to be in town--anyone interested?) we would at least reply. We wondered if people who live in resort communities are just bombarded with messages from we cold-climate-dwellers and just don't want to be tour guide again. Any thoughts? It would be great to hear from some Southern people if any are looking in at this blog.
We have had pretty good success with contacting people in western cities here in Canada (after weeding out the posers, of course). That method of contact has worked before and we've met some other fun couples who also actually fuck.
Has anyone had any luck contacting people at destinations?

 I have had a little luck meeting people from this site when I travel for work. It is nice to make friends in some of the places I go to for work. I find that making friends first always insures a real meeting. I have had a few last minute cancellations and things that came up - but, I just cut off contact and move on.
