Does Spellling Affect Your View Of A Profile?
Does Spellling Affect Your View Of A Profile? So I'm wondering if spelling errors or grammar usage errors affect someone's view of that person. Pictures aside if someone was physically attractive to you (assuming their photos were real ) would spelling errors in their profile skew your view of them? Another does "text" language in a profile turn you off? on? does nothing to/for you? I find them both a little annoying more so in a profile than anything. I understand there are some spelling errors but it's more the grammatical errors that stand out to me. Anyways just saw more than a few of them lately and wondered what other people thought.... |

Yes, spelling and text speak are the worst, because there is a damn spellcheck button right there! Instant turn-off. We all make typos, but not full-blown misspellings. Grammar I give more leeway with, but punctuation is key too. I've seen long profiles that were one sentence. Ugh. Unless we're role-playing teacher/student, it drives me bonkers! Lol 2022... it HAS be better, right?!

I am with you... Spelling errors, not so much as grammar... I can overlook spelling, but grammar just bugs the heck out of me.... As for "text" language goes... I think that has a tendency to sound the same as poor grammar... I believe they go hand in hand per say. Personally, I have just deleted a few poorly grammatical emails in the past... It is not as if someone has to be an Einstein in order to write correctly... That is the simple things we had drilled in us all those years we spent in school... Feel free to come take a glance at my blog smartypants2u... Looking forward to hearing you...

Absolutely. For me, there is no such thing as physical attraction without an intellectual connection. And when introduced via text, spelling/grammar is the only way to vet that. Now, your question is only reaching people who view/post blogs here, so responses to your question are pretty skewed.

My profile actually states that Gramatically correct emails are favored. I also look for someone who can spell above a 5th grade level. I hate viewing profiles or receiving emails with "text talk" in them. Is it that hard to spell out the word "YOU"...I am not a grammar Nazi but I cringe when something is very poorly written
