Thank you dear lady, that was beautiful. I received a message from my younger daughter this morning addressed to "Major John" thanking me for serving. That almost brought me to tears, as did your posting. So Thani you again, dear lady......

Joy, I will always be grateful that Canadians stood up and risked their lives to protect and Hide Americans during the Iran Hostage crisis.. Once more onto the breech dear friends.. Canada stood up and allowed planes to land filled with Americans during the Terrorist strike Sept 11, 2001 who couldn't fly home. It takes a certain type of person to risk themselves for others.. This is why people all over the world Love Canadians. I am very proud of my Canadian friends/ family and of ALL our Brave men, women & Kids in Canada. We owe you our Forever Thanks. Hugs, Ana6

My Dad was in England from '43 to '46 with the RCAF! There are about 400 trees, one for each Canadian serviceman who died in World WarOne and World War Two. These trees line each side of the A3 with each tree twinned with a grave in Bramshott Churchyard and St Joseph's Catholic Church, Grayshott. There is a memorial nearby. There was also the Epsom Riot on 17 June 1919, when about 400 Canadian soldiers rioted and attacked the police station in Epsom, Surrey. Canadian troops were based in Surrey in both wars.

There were delays in getting Canadian troops back home after fighting in the war so the troops were restless. They often rioted. The Epsom Riot followed an incident in a pub when two Canadian soldiers were arrested. Troops then attacked the police station; one police officer died as a result. Is this the first time Canada has declared war on Britain?
