Let me Ask you, What is your PHOBIA???
Let me Ask you, What is your PHOBIA??? What is your biggest fear or Phobia? I have a Phobia to 3 things. 1st. Heights. I just can't with that. makes me sick. my body shots down. Ironically. I was never afraid of heights when I was a . not sure what happen or when I pick that up. 2nd. Deep water. not sure why I am afraid of that now days, cause when I was a . I was a great swimmer and used to be on deep water all the time. now the idea of finding myself on deep water makes me panic. I don't even like to watch movies about deep water, I feel like something is going to come up and grabbed me. 3. Snakes. Oh God, I don't like them, I can't even watch snakes on TV or movies, I refuse to watch them. that is how bad it is for me, all my life. One time, I found a little snake that had gotten in to our house. by the basement door. my was there watching her and barking at it. I had no idea. he had her corner to a closet that was by the entrance door. Thanks God he saw her and stop her there. When I went to check what was he looking at and barking at inside the house. I ran out of my house almost naked, just had shorts and a bra on. run to the guy that used to live across the street from us. there I was at his door with just a bra on it. almost crying LOL. At first he didn't know what was going on. cause I kept saying, Jake, go get my and get her out, All hysterical semi nude on his door, ironically, he was a Cop Haha. he came over, grab her with something and took her outside, he said, I gonna take her and drop her off far in the woods. I said, no, kill her, what if she comes back here, I know, that was mean but it was my nerves talking. of course, he didn't kill her. He never lets me forget that time Now. your turn. What is your fear, your biggest Phobia? Please join the conversation!!! |

The one Phobia I had for the longest time was spiders when I was a kid, but not now. I don't know if I have any phobia now

I can get startled when something unexpected happens, but, never have really had any fears or phobias. Military; cop; EMT and volunteer fireman; have raced just about anything on pavement, dirt, and water; even made extra money in high school replacing the warning lights on local radio station towers. But, had a stroke last year and for about 12 hours couldn't talk, could barely move any muscles, and had a very hard time breathing/swallowing. Don't even know if it's a classified fear or phobia - but my brain was fully functioning and I knew everything going on around me, but, could not communicate with the doc's or nurses. Guess, that scared me shitless to be conscious that way, but, to not be able to communicate, sorta trapped in my own body and brain.

Sorry that you have them at all, having a fear of the unknown in normal but having an irrational fear if thing one can control is debilitating. I’m sure you have heard it all, it all in your head, face your fear to concur it. All these thing a nice if it was that simple. It only simple for those who do not have your fears. Those of us who do not have then do not seem to understand why you do. Well here is my story several years back when I was in the fire service keep this in mind firefighters are the biggest pack of joker you will ever meet and the only thing off limits in a station is PPE. Anyway we had this female firefighter who like the rest of us was a joker. That ended one day with one in the hospital and fifteen of us under investigation. Because we did not know she was an Arachnophobia and someone had clued a plastic to the bottom of her coffee cup. She had a medical emergency do to her fear and we had on at the station because of that. Thing went downhill from there she never did come back to that station and several of my fellow firefighters were move and reprimanded and a few demotion as well. It is sad that it took that to make us all understand the fear that a phobia generate in the person with the phobia. I hope your phobia never generate that much fear in you.

Your first two hit home.First time I ever went water skiing I was really good and thought I could really enjoy it.Then I had to wait for the boat to come back to the middle of the lake to get me.It was the first and last time. There is something eerie about floating in 200 plus foot deep water! Using more than all the road!

Well so long as your Phobia about snakes does not include Trouser snakes you should be OK !!! And seeing your BJ pictures you seem to be OK with that one at this stage !!!!

Not afraid of heights but uncomfortable with heights and I think my phobia is the dead.

It used to be dying alone was number one but then I realized that we all die alone so that went away. That as I get older and health fails that I will become more dependent on other people and less upon myself. Then ... I am at their mercy. That I won't be able to retire in a few years because others depend on me for financial support. Could be hard to do both on a fixed income. Compared to those ... spiders ... snakes ... heights ... etc ... aren't even on the radar. AB No Bozos

I'm not great with rats, mice or heights but my worst fear is that one of my children or grandchildren will die before me. I buried my first son as a baby and never want to do it again. ~~Anais Nin~~

Not a bid fan of snakes either, heights can be a little intimidating depends on where & what i am up...Really rough water in a small boat can be scary so not a big fan of real strong winds..

I've always had an issue with heights. On a family trip when I was a kid, I freaked out on a mountain gondola ride to see some ice fields. It scared the hell out of me. There is a high bridge here in Edmonton, and I try very hard not walk it. More recently, I've developed a severe phobia of traveling in a car on a highway. I'm usually okay within the city, but once I get out onto a major, fast, multilane highway, I start to freak. (It has to do with past traumas [i.e. car accidents]) As a result, I haven't traveled outside the city in a while. It's a real problem that I'm just starting to get help with. I'm not freaked out too much by spiders or snakes. More often, I find them intriguing. Of course, if I came face to fang with a poisonous spider/snake, I'd likely retreat, quickly! Does social anxiety due to shyness count as a phobia?

Spiders - can't stand the those furry eight legged freaks

|
My three worst fears... 1. Spiders...I was bitten a little over 2 years ago by a brown recluse spider and still haven't fully recovered. 2. Heights if what's under me isn't solid...I'm fine on top of a building or on a mountainside, but if I step out onto an exposed grating more than 10 feet off the ground I have to fight panic mode. 3. Mushroom clouds...I grew up in the duck and cover days, when they taught you in kindergarten to hide under your desk and kiss your ass goodbye if the warning sirens ever went off. Sometimes you just have to say fuck it, drop everything, and go to Vegas.
