IM problems...is it me, or is it the system?

So, raise your hand if this has ever happened to you.
It's a weekday night. You're browsing through the list of people on Instant looking for someone to chat with. You send out a few hellos to see if anyone responds. One does. You chat for a while. You start to get interested. So does he/she. After a while, things are starting to heat up. You've read each other's profiles and there's definitely a spark. You're even starting to get a little bit aroused (or maybe even a lot.)

Then it happens: you ask them a question, or try to answer one back. You wait for the response, and...nothing. You wait some more. It says they read your reply, but they haven't responded. Sometimes it shows them typing a response, but a response never comes. It's like someone came in and dumped a big bucket of ice water all over you.

Did they suddenly find you uninteresting? Did you say something offensive? Or did the system just take a shit on you...for the fifth (or fifteenth) time tonight?

I can't even count the number of times this has happened to me just in the past week. Sometimes I receive a greeting and I don't get further than " good, how are you?" before it decides to shit itself and nip what might have been a great conversation in the bud.

I won't even get started on the issues I have while camming.

I almost always run Local Adult Companion on my 3-year- Windows 10 laptop using Microsoft Edge for my browser. Maybe this is the problem? I'd love to hear from people who don't experience these issues what you are using when you're here.
