It's been a Star Trek kinda day for me.
It's been a Star Trek kinda day for me. Yah, I'm a Trekkie at heart.... The geek in me revealed it's true colors as I sat on the couch today junking out on 7 hours of Star Trek movies. Reminds me of back in the day. Back in the day, I watched Star Trek Next Generation every Sunday. It was part of my Sunday routine.... The weekend was officially coming to a close when Star Trek came on. Before that, I was watching the original, in syndication, with Captain Kirk boldly going where no man had gone before daily. I was tiny then, sitting on my grandpa's lap, with my grandma sitting on the couch next to us. They would be talking about the impossibilities of what was happening and I was imagining I was a part of the crew. Such a simpler time.... It just felt like a good day for me to snuggle up in a blanket, drink some cocoa, and watch some Star Trek. Healing. Happy Sunday. |

I wasn't much of a Star Trek fan, but I did watch every Lost In Space every week. In the 70's I shook hands with the robot while I was in LA!

The new ones are a lot more sci-fi / high tech, definitely not as campy as the old ones. I prefer the old ones myself mainly for that reason, but I have watched the new ones and I don't hate them. They're just, different.

I love Star Trek too. Wouldn't say I'm a trekkie as such, but the original show was a family event. And some of the ladies!!! Ooftah!!! Lt Uhuru?????? Cor blimey, she fuelled many a boyhood fantasy of mine! I've really enjoyed the most recent films too, and Dscovery and Picard were addictive. And yon Michael Burnham girl........crikey, I need a cold shower now!! Hope you're feeling better McLade.

Oh, I loved the Twilight Zone too! I just recently watched some of the old black and white ones... It's amazing how some of that stuff has kind of become a reality.

I'm pretty sure Q was the instigator of the Kobayashi Maru. He'll never admit it, though.

I love Sci-Fi especially Star Trek. In the seventies, as a kid there wasn't a lot of Sci-Fi to choose from and a lot of it was really bad except for Star Trek and later in that decade Star wars and the original Battlestar Galactica (which I love. Just couldn't get into the reboot, it seemed too much like Terminator in space.).

The Wrath of Khan, teaches you need both intellect and experience to outwit the enemy, a good philosophy. A very influential film this, thanks for post.

I posted about on of my "Dates".........I had a date this afternoon , if you get a chance to see it be sure to look at the last comment received and my answer, some people just are not with the real world!!!

I was already in 7th grade when the original series aired so nobody ever replaced my (original) Mr. Spock crush. I will admit to enjoying the remake movies.

I have over the years watched all of hem several times.. also the Star Wars I enjoy.. Such fantasy .. But look at some of the stuff in Star Wars, we all carry our " communicator" we just haven't been able to have Scotty "bean us up" yet!!

I really enjoyed the Next Generation but never got into the originals or any after that. I'm sure I could tho with someone to watch with. I did see some of the originals growing up. I was a big lost in Space fan mid 70s. It was on every day after school followed by Gilligan's Island and Brady Bunch! LOL It was definately a lazy kind of day.... unfortunately I spent hours shopping for a clothes washer

Very nice! Star Trek fan here as well. So which movies did you watch? The originals with WIlliam Shatner and Leonard Nimoy? Or the more current ones with Chris Pine?

Have to say.... Mr. Spock was always my favorite, until Wesley Crusher came along. He was my 7th grade celebrity crush.
