Instant Message Function?

I cannot tell you how disappointing the Instant Message function or I should say disfunction. I hate the fact that people would think I am purposely not answering. If I cannot chat, I would just say so. Ever since the “new button” was added it has gotten worse not better. Just wish they would fix it. It is right up there with eliminating the trolls. Makes it hard to enjoy the site for what it could be.

 The IM on this site has NEVER functioned well at all. I agree it's very frustrating!

 whats the new button ? Yes...its always been tempermental....fortunately tho....most people know that its whacky and will understand if they are not seeing your replies.

I always just chalk it up to the crazy site.

Dont hold ur breath waiting for it to be fixed. ~~

 I prefer receiving snail mail, but I try to answer pings - if I even notice them. I'm pretty sure it's a very small percentage of total IM requests.
