 Your post made me cry- not just for you but for all the veterans that are being so badly mistreated and ignored, Please seek out some help for yourself ASAP- some place you can get to a piece of mind stage. There are services out there that would be so willing to visit you and walk you through this hole in your life.

 It is a sad fact that a lot of countries, after asking their men and women to put their lives on the line, up against the bullets, they chose to treat the lucky ones who make it back as second class citizens. It is even a sadder fact that some of these guys and gals cannot cope with stuff that happened to them out there, the things they seen, and the things they had to do. I like to think that your hubby did what he did, not because he could not live with you, but because he could not live with the hell that was going through his mind at the time. I also like to believe, that may be, just may be, he would of liked it if you just drawn a line, put everything behind you, apart from the nice memories, and got on with your life. I understand this might be a huge thing for you, but he is gone and you are now the number 1. For yourself at least. Have you thought about a house swap ? Or rent your place out, move somewhere else with the rent money, and have a go at life once again ? If all that is not possible, how about redecorating the place, move some furniture around and give the place a different feeling ? I realize that a new lick of paint could be rather insignificant, but it might be a first little step in the right direction. Best of luck.
