Two Things You Can Do... To Make Her Hum... 🔥❤️

You can find a tiny bit of wisdom and a smidgen of irony, in strange places ; you just have keep your eyes and ears open and sometimes, they fall right onto your lap. Take yesterday for instance.

As usual, I was driving home and trapped - once again - in snarled traffic. My radio was blaring when I heard these words spoken.

"When you fall in love, you fall in love with that person - in spite of their imperfections."

You might think it was a remark from ; a 'love doctor' or an inspirational 'thought for the day'. In fact, it was part of an advertisement for - of all things - a store selling appliances, that are slightly dinged or scratched. What a captivating by-line to push a product. The announcer also promised ; more than fifty percent off, with a guaranteed 'great deal'.

Ironically - back in the day - my spouse and I went to THAT store and bought a huge side by side fridge. When we first examined that stainless steel behemoth and all its (supposed) imperfections we accepted it, fell in love with it and brought it home. It had a few scratches and a small dent, but that ice box was a beast. She still IS a beast. I own it to this very day!

It's a sombre paradox that my wife and I could live contently, with an imperfect gadget, but we couldn't - live with each other's nicks and dents. Our union... eventually dissolved.

My old fridge? She can still fricken flash freeze burning magnesium - in five seconds! Sure... every once in a while the motor buzzes a bit. I nudge her on the side or jiggle her a touch and - she continues to hum.

If it were only that easy, right ? I didn't think about it back then, but perhaps a nudge here and a jiggle there... might have saved a marriage.

Nah... I don't think so.

.........................................

Is 'love', all about accepting your partner with all their imperfections or is that just a myth? 🤔

If life were as easy as giving things a kick, to stop the irritation. 😊
I know... I know... Husbands and wives should never kick each other. But I look at that damn fridge... and it doesn't seem to have minded a boot - from a pair of cushioned slippers once in a while. lol 😂 OMG 😮❤️🌹

We all have imperfections, and acceptance of another's imperfections, well to me, sometimes their imperfections are the endearing qualities about them IF they later turn to annoyances, perhaps rather than a kick or two, a gentle nudge might work.

What a great read, so glad you still own your fridge, and you know paying attention to the little things in a relationship is what keeps it strong and will definitely keep her humming too..Communication is also the key to a long lasting marriage as well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Yes and yes. Maybe not a full fledged real kick but a nudge in right direction. If there is love there the other will willingly accept and understand why it was given. Constructive criticism is a good thing for a marriage. Communication is key. Some people actually need the occasional nudge whether it’s just a case of temporary self absorption or just plain ignorance of what they are doing. Humans have a way to justify their wrongs to themselves without thinking of the consequences. A little nudge puts them back in perspective and opens door for whatever is needed to rectify. True love can withstand a whole lot more than you think. I am a sucker for scratch and dent deals. My refrigerator needs a little nudge every once in awhile too. 🙃

Interesting. Many people recognize the imperfections in their partner and marry them in an attempt to change them and then all hell breaks loose when the person can't or won't change. The imperfections we once thought were cute quirks become annoying irritations and then unacceptable behaviors and traits as couples separate and divorce.

I use to nudge my husband, with my foot, to get him to roll over in bed and stop snoring. Kinda the same thing.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Is 'love', all about accepting your partner with all their imperfections or is that just a myth? .... That's a huge romanticized fairytale myth.

First of all, people don't fall in love, they become infatuated. And after the infatuation wears off, the flaws become obvious. A persons friends or family members may have tried to open their eyes to the flaws, nicks, scrapes, but he/she wouldn't hear of it, couldn't see it.

You are familiar with that stupid song, "When a man loves a woman"? Yeah ... well , the song is really about being infatuated.

Being infatuated is like being drugged, being totally irrational, out of it.

- If life were as easy as giving things a kick, to stop the irritation. .... And that would absolutely stop the annoyance? Then , yes, people would be doing that a lot.

Those imperfections , thought of as endearing?

At the moment they annoy the shit out of your friends and family,, and later, they sometimes begin to annoy the shit out of you , too.... when you come out of your mind-fog.

This desire to find one and only mate , is really irrational when you consider the population of the planet, ease of travel, how many people you might run into any day of the week just by going to the store...and how close we all have become technologically.

... and isn't THAT, the kicker- when they become an annoyance. How do you change a cute habit or personality trait... that you've grown tired of? 🤔
Add up all those little annoyances and well...
Some people recover and others? 😶

Wise words. Are you a therapist? lol 😂
True, about communication. Well... you're a couple... I heard the words 'true love'... is that your ace?

You hit the nail on the head.
But... in spite of annoying traits, what ticked me... was the way their thoughts and vision didn't match mine.
I really didn't mind all the small stuff...
Good points. You sound balanced... lol 😂

Infatuation, is a strong word and worthy.
But I'm sure... fairy tales exist? 🤔
Notwithstanding the lyrics... it's not a bad... song.
Have you ever been infatuated?

Yeah but... let's take those annoying things everyone does.
I don't know about you, but I could live with that. What I can't live with, is someone who doesn't think like me.
Not agree... with me.
But THINK... like me.
Intelligence and empathy can go a long way.
