Young Men

Maybe I just getting or maybe jaded but the way young men speak to women is concerning me. By young I meaning 18 -30 year males. I totally fed up by blunt, crude offensive one line messages from them. What is most disturbing is many seem totally bemused and surprised when I reply stating how offensive they are. Now of course I have the option not to reply but I no "shrinking violet" and if I see something wrong I say so. If women just ignore ignorance we are just tolerating and accepting that ignorance. I do not accept that if some one offends me I have to just accept it.

I turning into a grumpy woman or is insisting on manners and civilised behavior worth the effort?

You thoughts?

Sweetie, you can give it up, it not just the young men, the young women are not much better. They only know how to talk to someone on line not face to face so they do not care. World changes, not always for the best.

I couldn't agree more!

Then again, I'm an older guy and don't mind having less competition.

Well I like to actually say hello and say my name, I do give a little taste of what I'm looking for sexually but not too vulgar and always offer to meet in a public place, usually food and drinks. The woman is older so they aren't as hesitant to have some fun. Never the less, on this site, I get approached by a lot of rude older men , it's sort of disappointing actually.

I think you should voice your displeasure at their approach....nicely but firmly. Most of the time, it's probably a wasted effort but if even one guy learns then it's worth the trouble. I specifically will say something if I get an unasked for penis picture. But make sure you acknowledge the polite ones.

btw - You're too young to be a grumpy OLD lady.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Older.Younger.It's the internet and they are strangers.
And by that I mean much stranger than what we're used too or
at least what I'm used too. It's a site that imbues dirty mindedness
and a lot of people take that to mean anything goes.Sadly!

Using more than all the road!

I always try to be polite to everyone. It's very unfortunate that you experienced younger people speaking like that but the internet does allow for that anonymity and get away with it. It's a shame that so many guys can act so disrespectful.

i am 19 and i treat all women properly and with respect most young guys dont care they know there are alot of females who will just have sex no matter how a guy treats her and i do not believe in that i believe it has to do with how people are raised if parents dont teach thier kids how to treat women and men properly then thats the kind of results your going to get a kid who thinks he/she can get what ever they want without consequences its bs and the parents dont do anything like whip them if i had kids id let em know what up i mean i may not be looking for a relationship i am young and curious and want to try new things but that doesn't mean you cant be nice and respectful

No it's no too much to expect a man to be courteous and respectful . If a man doesn't respect you right from the start then he'll never have any respect for you .
There was a time when a man could be embarrassed when put in his place by a woman , but not these days . These wastes of skin couldn't care less .

I suspect these are guy's who can't get laid meeting face to face because of their social incompetence, so they try it on here.

Possibly they regard any attention as better than none, in which case the best idea would be to block them without discussion.

Following my advice may cause injury, insanity, financial loss, hemorrhoids, death and superpowers

Maybe I just getting or maybe jaded but the way young men speak to women is concerning me. .... Likely to get a lot more worse , before, if at all, it gets better.

I totally fed up by blunt, crude offensive one line messages from them. .... Well ...you can always try eharmony.

What is most disturbing is many seem totally bemused and surprised when I reply stating how offensive they are..... Why would you take the time to say you're offended?

Now of course I have the option not to reply but I no "shrinking violet" .... Go with , "Not to reply".

and if I see something wrong I say so. .... "Wrong" is so subjective.

If women just ignore ignorance we are just tolerating and accepting that ignorance..... If women say they're offended, ........well.............. so she is .........so what?

I do not accept that if some one offends me I have to just accept it..... Nobody said you have to accept it. Just walk away.

I turning into a grumpy woman .... Lots of women are grumpy these days.........and by happenstance.. lots of men really don't care if women are feeling grumpy. Or for that matter, don't care if women are feeling offended. .... I certainly don't.

The expression, "I'm offended" has become liken to that of a toddlers "Waaa".

or is insisting on manners and civilised behavior worth the effort? .... Nope..... not worth the effort at all.

They do it because it's worked before and/or they are safely behind a keyboard.

I work with students, and despite what I said above, manners are getting worse. Just not as bad as it seems.

Treat others as you want to be treated.

I will always do my best to treat a woman (anyone for that matter) with respect. If, somehow, I make a mistake, I hope someone will tell me, so I can learn from my mistakes. I don't want to be crude, it's not who I am. Some people call me boring or old fashioned for that. Oh well.
