Back To The Drawing Board

Ooooff, my date on Saturday went ok.. A very nice guy, just no real spark. Oddly, if I were looking for something more long term, we might have moved forward, I think the spark could have ignited. But I am adamant about keeping my heart out of it.

Sometimes, it makes me sad that I have no interest in the romantic side of things, but then I remember the heartbreak and how hard I have worked to build a life for myself. I realize that sounds like a cop out, but I did struggle for years to get where I am and I do believe that I am fabulous.

It is not that I do not want to care about someone, nor do I not want to be cared about, it just seems that the world we live in has driven us, with our need for instant gratification, to the point of taking each other for granted.

 This needs to be about what both parties want. There is no "standard" solution that fits all. At our time of life, you don't need to worry about pleasing anybody but yourself, no need to be nasty about it, but everybody ought to be happy enough to accept a "thanks, but no thanks". There are many men and women out there who will share your perspective.

That vibe is fine as long as you have people in your crew with whom you can just hang out with or talk to. Nothing worse than sharing a joke with 4 fucking walls — who just don't get it. 🤔
