The Second Dose

Yesterday morning I received the second dose of the Phiser vaccine. With how everyone has been talking, I'll admit to being a bit nervous.

After getting the shot, I went to work. I had just the one class to teach in person yesterday and I already had someone ready to fill in for me if I needed it. But I didn't. I felt a bit sore in the arm and a bit fatigued, but nothing major. Got through the day easily enough. Started thinking it might not be an issue afterall.

Oh how I was wrong.

Last night it hit hard. I was flashing between being all melty and hot to shaking I was so cold. That coupled with a splitting headache, soreness all over, and nausea. Good times. Ha ha

Eventually I did get some sleep, and when I woke, I'm feeling much better. Stayed in bed a while all wrapped up like a burrito, but now I'm moving around and feeling alright. Just really hungry. Yes for food, but also other appetites. LOL.

Didn't expect that.

I've still got a headache, and I'm still a bit tired. But the worst is past. Should be a good weekend afterall.

You see light dappling on the water and forget the deep, cold dark beneath.

Even with a rough night, still totally worth it. Especially as a professor, being exposed to as many people as I am.

Hmmmmm, If it worked or not they would not tell us! Did they say u would have side affects?

"They" have told us. The numbers are in. The vaccine I took is over 95% effective in preventing infection, and currently 100% effective in preventing hospitalization and death. That seems totally worth it for a day or two of flu-like symptoms. Which they warned me about before I got the shot.

Sounds like COVID symptoms after that second shot.I am still waiting for my first one here and my province here in Canada is going back to a province wide lock down again as the variants here is kicking our butt. So looking forward to getting both my first and second shot here.Glad you are feeling better after yours.Happy Easter to you.xoxo

Semi-rough flu symptoms, but without the debilitating lung and possible brain damage that can go with COVID.

Sorry to hear about your new lockdown. Hopefully the variant is still covered by the Vaccine. But its only a matter of time before one pops up that isn't. Too many people partying and hitting the bars and refusing to stay safe or get vaccinated. Makes it ripe for mutation.

And thanks. I should be right as rain come Easter.

Had the astrazeneca jab 2 weeks ago , had a brutal headache the same night and a fit of the shivers , was told I might have some effects and get the flue jab every year and react virtually the same way , most of my friends have had 0 reactions . From what I,ve read on credible websites its pretty normal to have a reaction . Just felt the need to comment just in case anyone was thinking to not have a jab , is no credible reason not too , rant over lol

Thanks. Yeah, one night of roughness and a couple days of minor annoyance isn't a big thing. The normal flu can be worse. Everyone should be running out to get the vaccine the moment they can.

Feel free to rant. ha ha.

I do count myself lucky. And I believe next week everyone is open for the vaccine here. Which is fantastic.
