Nothing gives you a sinking feeling like exiting a shopping center to find a flat tire on your car. Even worse, opening the trunk to get the jack and spare only to find... no spare. Then you remember a certain conversation with a who needed a tire. Hmmm... why would mom need that spare? Immediately your brain assesses the situation: 30 miles from home; 6:30 pm on a Wednesday; you dont know a soul in this town.
First, call , no answer...SURPRISE! Second, look up businesses in area... all closed Third, ask for help... OH BOY!
The answers I received from the average middle aged men walking by were interesting: cant help you, call Uber, call your husband (sure my ex would love that), call a garage, NO and my personal favorite... Im on my way to church or i would help... Hmmmm.
Then this little skinny 20 something walks by. "Do you need help mam?" I love this already. I explain the situation, he takes a look at the tire. Pulls out his phone, makes a couple calls. Then he says "Come with me, I will get this patched up for you" And he did! Also gave me his number to call if i had problems and to let him know when i got home safely. What a great guy! Needless to say, my new friend got a big kiss and hug for being my knight in shining armour! He also copped a feel of my ass at the time and hinted he would like to see more of me. He will.
Definition of Chivalry relevant to modern life: the choice to do the right things, for the right reasons, at the right times.
Til next time Linden
