A Level Up

Before meals, I remember saying grace and giving thanks.
However, with the information that I heard recently, I took it to another level.

Scientists have measured with lie detectors the emotions of vegetables that were to be eaten.

One set was abused, shouted at and vilified.
The other was treated with respect, gently spoken to and given thanks to.

As a result,
The first set had a shorter lifespan and spoiled easily.
The latter sample had a longer shelf life and was healthier.

Think about the effect that either of them would have on your health.
Which set of veggies would you eat?
I think this applies to everything that we relate to.

Knowing this, I have taken the example to another level. Since everything is made up of the same atomic energy,
I choose to communicate with everything positively and receive positive effects.

One who chooses to deal with anything negatively will somehow get negative effects.

Now, everything that I touch, eat and speak with, I treat with respect and thank.
So, in time, I reap the blessings of good results from them.

Somehow, the 'Golden Rule' still applies today.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

The Fly

The other day, I was at my dining table when a fly came upon my hand.
In a split second, I turned my hand over with the palm facing up. and to my amazement, the fly was dead on the table.

He did not expect that, but he was gone.
After cleaning up and washing my hands,
I was kind of bothered in ending the life of that little thing.

Immediately, I tried to communicate with its spirit somewhere in the universe.
I said, "Sorry, dear fly for having terminated you in a hurry without even thinking."

Somehow, after that heartfelt apology, my spirit was lifted up, and I felt more at peace with the universe.

A couple of weeks ago, a dear friend of mine was hospitalized due to weakness in her heart and lungs.
Her lungs were accumulating liquid and had some tissue scarring.
She needed 100% Oxygen from a machine to survive.
Immediately, I went to the ICU nearby to visit and comfort the family.

The shock that her life was suddenly fading away was paralyzing.
No joyful news could lift me up.
The food I ate seemed bland and I was zombie-like.
My life force was sucked from me completely,
that I couldn't even drown my sorrows in the neighborhood bar.

Upon speaking with her family and friends, we embraced, kissed, laughed and cried - remembering all the wonderful things she's done to touch our lives. It drew us closer together than ever before.
We've become more affectionate with each other.

After a week in the ICU, she was stable enough to be transferred to a San Francisco hospital that specialized in her illness. Now, with the proper medication and caring medical professionals who surround her, she feels better and will be released sooner than later. She's been given a new lease on life.

The Rollercoaster events of weeks passed have shaken my life's core
and taught me to best appreciate folks for the time they have left.
Accept and love them as they are - the good and bad traits too.
You'll miss all their qualities when they're gone.

Somehow, I feel grateful for this excruciating and bitter-sweet experience,
for it aligned my life's priorities and deepened my respect for people.
The things that matter most now are the personal relationships I make and have today.
I'll cherish them better in the fleeting and precious moments that we are given to share.

'I was wondering if you were in a relationship at this time?' she wrote.

Dear Ms. X,

Although, I am neither married nor attached,
I have a few friends who are dear lovers.
Our compatibility and chemistry allow us to venture into a deeper kind of intimacy.

I'd rather make love with a friend, because she knows and understands where I'm coming from.
We have a strong sense of mutual respect, knowing our likes and dislikes.
Genuine friends and lovers somehow complement and anticipate each other.
And with this, truly satisfying encounters occur.

How about you, Darling?

Dear Ms. X,

Thanks Darling for the lovely roses that arrived this morning at my doorstep.
I wish to make them grow in my heart and home.
Upon your arrival, let me show you our beautiful garden's cultivation.
In your honor, I named it, 'The X Rose Garden.'

May this morning be enchanting like you.

'I sadly regret that I live so very far away,' she wrote.

Passionately, I replied:

Oh Darling, kindness very easily transcends and connects the distance between us.

'I reach out my hand a thousand miles away
and consider you my friend.'

What is far seems so very close now,
And I love you with all my heart.

'What are you looking for here?' she asked.

As I held her ankle in the cafe, I said:

Mutual respect fuels me here and everywhere, Darling.
With that force behind me, I have such a high regard for you,
That I welcome your friendship.

And depending upon our compatibility and chemistry,
May we allow ourselves to blossom into the deeper forms of intimacy.

'Handsomely Bearded & Beautifully Tatooed'

In the Mediterranean last Autumn,
I asked him, 'Sir, are you a member of the BEARDED VILLAINS of the UK?'
This group is a Brotherhood of Elite Bearded Men from all over the World.
I admired their ink too, for they were so neatly and intricately done.
