witnessed a possible miracle yesterday.
had just finished shopping at the local mega-store but hadnt yet pulled out of my parking spot. i was in the second or third spot.
a driver had pulled out, but because she was so close to the front of the aisle, she was kind of in the middle.
a fellow in a vehicle something like a bronco was trying to pull into the aisle, but unfortunately, she was blocking him.
but he, in turn was also blocking her from pulling out to clear the way.
after a minute of two, he slammed into reverse for a few feet, then gunned it in drive.
how he didnt hit the fellow who was crossing into the parking lot from the store just then i can only imagine was due to some sort of divine intervention.
he did stop in time, may have even made eye contact with the walker, but i can easily image he felt it was all the first drivers fault if anything had happened.

winter storm that crossed the counrty now making its way into the northeast
this weekend. time for inventive ways to keep warm -
fireplace? hot tub? lots of hot cocoa? french onion soup?
and of course, cuddling (and more  )
under lots of fluffy blankets.
and over the weekend is the best time for it.
any special plans for getting romantically snowed in?

saw this news item, hardly "new" but still -
Walmart heirs are making $4 million every hour and $0 million a day: report
would kill them an additional 1% or 2% in taxes?
would it force them start shopping at thrift shops,
food banks and used-car dealers with salesmen "slim"?
im sure theyd never miss it, yet it, and similar stipends from others similarly rich,
would do so much help the country run better for everyone,
and do a lot better the lives of the people spend their
shopping at their stores.
there are millions of people work hard all their lives
and never make million in a lifetime.
i know i wont. will you?
think about that a bit then please add your thoughts.
not ultra-partisan insulting and -calling political, 
just real-person real-person thoughts and ideas, please

with the nerf assault rifle?

if you have any analog clocks (ya know, with hands),
like your grandfather or mantle clock, or a vintage kitchen clock,
DONT turn the hands backwards, it can damage the mechanisms
which arent meant to go that way.
instead, move it FORWARD 11 hours to the new time.
only takes a minute per clock
and youll still have the rest of the hour left to do . . . ?

watching the hearings today and one (of the many) most annoying things
is a posing a "yes or no" question where the inquisitor fully well knows
neither simply "yes" nor "no" can actually FULLY ANSWER the question
and allows the askers and his supporters
infer something untrue from the limited response.
when did the english language become such a lethal weapon?!
what do you think?

now if, as i understand it ( ! ? ), the nra suggests
that everyone should have a gun for protection,
shouldnt the PRESIDENT of the nra have enough f______ guns already?
without tax-payer cobb county sheriffs having to provide security?

anyone else see how shallow this is considering the timing of
the democratic debates, which he repeatedly tries to spin as being
all about him? in an election year, go figure.
and he still manages to kiss the gun industrys collective ass
repeating the lame comment, "guns dont people, people do".
look around, people people WITH guns.
im okay with rifles for hunting, pistols (grudgingly) for "self-defense",
but ak-47s and the like have NO PLACE in civilian hands!
if the leading method of murder was pushing people out of windows,
would he come out as against windows?
guess it would depend on what the polls would tell him about
how many union jobs build windows versus how many people actually die?
how many americans will continue to get sucked in in this election
trump saying "the right thing" but ONLY for political gain
at the expense of the "other side" which hell support next week
if its beneficial to him ? !
BTW, im not democrat either, only having two parties makes politics
NOT about whats right for the country, but only about defeating the "other" party,

try paint democrats as cry-babies?
trumpers are even decrying trump being called "racist" as "just a word",
which SOOOO doesnt address the accusations, insults the accusers
(try telling black americans that "n....." is "just a word" -
anybody with a brain, heart and conscience knows better).
is the intended result even further brainwash trumpers
that democrats have no message worth listening OTHER than his racism?
ive heard and read every insult in the thrown at dems by trumpers
blindly following that pattern.
and is it also try sway some dems away from the main party
by convincing them the racism issue is all there is the what the dems are about?
and by tiring them of the massive backlash against bringing it up
and how hard it is get enough "floor" discuss anything else?
if, as it seems, his plan is portray reasonable negative response
abhorrant behavior
as single-minded excessivism, and turn that into a positive push,
its brilliant, but in a diabolical way.
the term is "propaganda",
and the way hes applies it is called "ad hominem abusive".

remember when it was thought TED TURNER would run for president and
there was a huge backlash against someone is a self-promoting businessman
becoming a politician?
