why arent we already terra-forming mars?!

the scientific community has been aware for a long time that cosmic events could threaten earth and humanity in our lifetime.
much has been written in sci-fi and sci-fact about the realistic need for humanity to expand to mars for survival.
although the question about whether life exists, or ever existed, on mars is still unanswered, it is clear that there are no current civilizations or sentient populations.
so why arent we already terra-forming it?!
why havent we used the myriad of mars-landing vehicles to seed mars with colonies of anaerobic bacteria, readily found on earth, which consume carbon dioxide and produce oxygen?
it may take hundreds or even thousands of years to totally terra-form mars, and we humans on earth may not have that much time.
we could have already started decades ago.
i think we should have, and should do so with our very next mars-landing vehicle.
what are YOUR thoughts on this?

should computers refer to themselves as "i"?

i often use the telephone to check accounts, schedule pickups for my business by a national package-delivery service, and get customer service answers.
many of the automated systems refer to themselves as "i", instead of "we".
for some reason, that annoys the $#!+ out of me!
maybe the companies think that the customer feels more comfortable by being given the illusion of "personal" service?
i find that notion insulting.
i know that the voice speaking to me is not an "i", but instead a machine which is not "thinking" and conversing with me, but instead only responding to my prompts as it was programmed to.
therefore, i much rather prefer to hear "we", as the voice represents the combined efforts of the people who make the system work.
what are YOUR thoughts on this?
