Profile Is Turned Off, Yet They Are Still Here

Ever so often I see on my blog visitor list the name of someone whose profile is turned off. Sometime it's someone I've been friends with in the past, but for one reason or another we lost contact. Each time I see a name like this I wonder, whatever became of him and what's going on in his life. And why is he here, but his profile is turned off.
I also wonder, if when someone turns their profile off, do they know their name shows up on a blog visitor list?

I generally don't use this blog as a forum for sentimental thoughts. But today I can't help to reflect on how lucky I am to have three daughters I love and respect, consider my best friends, and know that the feeling is mutual.

Once again, I am being taken on a vacation. Going to NYC tomorrow for two days of great food and a Broadway show. Something I've always wanted to do.
Who says you can't meet great people and make good friends here on A F F? I certainly have.

I don't get it. A woman whose profile does not have a picture, or much info written about herself, or she may even have a profile that is turned off, comes into a chatroom and men begin hitting on her. Why? They can't see what she looks like or know anything about her.
Very weird...I've tried to put 2 different pictures here and they keep disappearing. One more time....

Apparently, a typo caused me to be banned from my local chatroom for 24 hours. I inadvertently typed numbers instead of a word which was followed up by my next post commenting how I inadvertently typed numbers instead of letters, prompting a discussion, trying to figure out what I did.
Well...the powers that be claimed to receive an email alerting them I was giving out personal info.
Not that I'm desperate to chat...fortunately, I'm not as into it as I used to be...but trying to remember an alternate screen name I had years ago...just because....

Always curious as to how other's found Local Adult Companion and their subsequent experiences.
As for me, after a long marriage and divorce, I had been on other dating sites, met some men and had been in a few semi-serious relationships. While looking to explore my options I read about Friendfinder. While searching for that site, somehow ended up here. Wrote up a very short profile with no picture and instantly was contacted by some very interesting men. Never being a prude and always up for some adventure, I began meeting them for coffee, drinks, or a meal and inevitably with many, sex. Very soon, I added to what was written on my profile, and some pictures, joined local groups, discovered chatrooms and a new lifestyle of recreational sex and swingers. Eight years later I still have some of the same friends, some offering more than just recreational sex, and continue to make new friends and have new experiences. There are times I get jaded and feel I need a change (hence some of my more not so cheerful blogs), but for the most part am happy I found my way here and have no regrets.
Maybe living in a highly populated urban area makes it easier for me, but am amazed when other women I chat with, who are frequent visitors on this site complain they haven't had sex for long periods of time. The number of men....desirable men (yes, there are some that you gotta ignore) is astronomical, if a woman is comfortable with her sexuality and willing to take a chance and actually meet men and not just chat the possibilities are endless.

Are you able to resist the urge to check into various websites Local Adult Companion, other email, IMs, twitter, social sites like Facebook etc. whenever you have a spare moment or even if you are busy doing other thing? You know there is probably nothing of great interest since you last checked, but you do it anyway.
