Actually I was looking through some old pictures the other day, mostly of me as a baby and I couldn't believe how young my father looked in them lol.

It’s been a fairly busy week work wise, it’s really cutting into my blogging time lol.
Actually I’m contemplating a career change.
I had thought that maybe I should give up this working for a living thing and become a full time blogger.
Unfortunately, that didn’t pan out as I was advised to keep my day job
Allegedly, that was due to the wage structure available to full time bloggers as opposed to the quality of my work but I’m not convinced
So that leaves me with two options to fall back on… or Professional Masturbator.
I’ve been told that being a is rather hard work though, albeit pleasurable. And let’s face it, who wants to work hard? Plus, there’s always the criticism to deal with….I’d imagine you’d have to be pretty thick skinned to handle the customer comment cards After all if you’re being paid to provide a service, the quality of the service had better be up to standard. Hello everyone
I've been a little quiet this week blogwise lol
I wasn't going to make another post this week but all of a sudden i had a bit of a flash of something...inspiration...a burst of energy.....cheered up....i don't know...whatever it was it gave me a little boost anyway so here i am
I know I know...I shouldn't have bothered lol
But what the hell, it's friday, the sun is shining....why not??
It's not often that I really identify with a song's lyrics, but once in a while I hear something that is perfect....
I was listening to "Smile" by Uncle Kracker...if you're a QX104 listener you're probably sick of it by now...it seems to be on constantly lol But then 104 is bad for overplaying popular songs....I always found Hank FM to be much more varied. Like I always say, I think QX104 only owns 3 Cd's lol
And it should be noted that I am NOT a big country fan lol
There is a lot of real good country music but there is a lot of what i call "pre packaged dross"....I guess that's a problem when you employ song writers...ever noticed that you get spurts of a certain type of song or subject matter in country music??
When people are writing to deadlines or with the intention of selling what is to all intents and purposes a "product" I guess that's what ends up happening sometimes...not always...but sometimes....
(before i get inundated by irate country fans I do like it....most of the time...if it's good...lol)
Anyway...
Now, you should know I'm not a smiler....
I'm not one of those people who goes around flashing teeth all the time.
Part of that is my nature (yes I am quite grouchy lol) and part of it is a hangover from having bad teeth as a youngster....( yeah I'm soooooooooo old lmao)
I never smiled because I was embarrassed about my teeth and that sort of became my natural face that I presented to the world (habit is a dangerous thing sometimes....).
I was also a very serious too which doesn't help matters lol i was always told I was 8 (or whatever) going on 40
So suffice it to say, even though I'm a pretty happy, positive person I don't generally look like one lol
Even to the point of being accused of being in a bad mood when I'm not lol
You should see the wrinkles on my forehead when my face is relaxed...trust me you wouldn't talk to me for fear of getting your head bitten off lol
Yes I do scare small and animals
I've been asked to leave the Zoo property because I was disturbing the animals and spoiling other peoples visits lol
Ok maybe I was exaggerating on that last one lol Did you notice??
But anyway, the whole point is that if you can make me smile, grin insanely or otherwise show happiness with my facial expression other than a smirk, then you have done something few people have ever managed
That's why "smileys" are so great lol but I digress lol
And to get to the point of the whole piece...that's why I like that lyric so much....to have someone who can do that for you and make you act like the guy in the song is wonderful
Actually it's probably the whole point of life itself really if you think about it....

Morning folks
This should have gone up yesterday but I was holding off hoping for more response to Fridays effort lol
So much for that
Sunday night was Lynyrd Skynyrd night for those of you without your finger on the pulse, so to speak lol hence the title, but I'll get to that later
Opening act Jerry Doucette was good
Ever seen an opening act get the entire (half) the arena singing?
Just get Jerry Doucette to play "Mama let him play", you'll see it lol
As I said, stage was at centre ice or so so only half the arena was open, but boy did that half make enough noise to make it seem like the whole arena was full
Always nice to see that level of support, and I'm sure the band loved it too
Of course there's only one original member left now, but Skynyrd were always a "faceless" band anyway....could you have picked any of the pre plane crash band out of a lineup?? lol
That has no effect on the music though...they sounded great and Johnny Van Zant (who replaced his brother killed in that 70's crash) is a worthy replacement and looked like he was still having a ball 24 years after stepping in when they reunited back in '87 or so Not exactly the new guy huh?? lol
However, as always it's the music that counts and the setlist was mainly the old classics, which suited everyone perfectly. Not much in the way of newer material, I think maybe one song...
No stage show to speak of either, just the lights and the band but when the music is that good, who needs pyro lol
And now the encore.....lol
Of course it's going to be "Freebird" ....lol
One of the best songs ever written
I defy anyone to hear the opening bars of that song and not have the hair stand up on the back of their neck when the slide guitar plays that riff Awesome
And of course THAT guitar solo
If you're not familiar with the song go check it out on one of those video sharing sites......if you have the slightest interest in guitar you'll wet yourself over THAT solo
It's relatively simple musically speaking, a lot of repeated phrases, but just try playing it
And it sounds amazing, both on record and live
That's one of my ambitions in life...to play that solo that well lol
I guess maybe i should practice more lmao
Or at all lmao
So all in all great show, great band and a guitar orgasm to finish....who could ask for more??
